Beautiful Ruins

I'm more than lucky that I get to work on videos for such great books, but I'm especially excited about this latest commercial I made for Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter.


The commercial has been airing on W Network across Canada this week but will also be part of a block of movie programming starting today at 12:30, so you still have time to try to catch it on air. I had a lot of fun playing with the Film Damage After Effects tool from Felt Tips for this ad, it's so awesome, definitely recommend it!

Game Artwork

I recently worked on the artwork and animation for the just released mobile game Mongoose Loves Mangoes from 84 North Studios.

This is the first time I've worked on art or animation for a game but I think it turned out pretty good! I might post some of the images and animation here later.

Right now it's only downloadable for Windows 7 phones but will hopefully be available for other devices soon.

I found this page particularly difficult to colour, mainly the backgrounds and everything about Ytwztz. To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with it but I'm really really looking forward to finishing the next page which is my favourite of this story. I think I might try to upload the next two pages at the same time to wrap everything up so it will probably take a little longer than my usual one a week schedule.

People exploding into puffs of smoke to odd sound effects?! Whoa, indeed! Here is page two of "Interview" starring THE THOUGHTFULS! Dramatic! Anyway, this comic is really kind of strange and came to me almost fully formed one night so I tried to work on it as quickly as I could. I hope to have the other pages up soon, hope you enjoy part one...

Insurgent Cineplex ad

This 30 second commercial that I produced will be running during the pre-show before The Hunger Games in Cineplex theaters across the country this week! Hopefully I'll get to see it on the big screen.

25films

This year I issued myself a challenge: watch more movies. Not too tough, I know, but specifically I mean movies I otherwise might not choose to see or movies that I have always meant to watch but never have.

25 of my friends graciously agreed to each choose one film for me to watch and came up with a great list of titles that I'll be viewing throughout the year.
